ZABRZE, Poland. February 11 (PSN) – With the end to the winter break, Wisla Krakow started their spring campaign off to a poor start in Zabrze in the twenty-first round of the 2018/2019 LOTTO Ekstraklasa season.

The White Star ended up losing 0:2 away to Gornik Zabrze, who unlike the Krakow outfit ended up rejuvenating their roster during the January transfer window. The new signings proved to show that Gornik were now a better side and had little difficulty outplaying the struggling Wisla, who had lost most of its key players during the break. The match also marked the return of Jakub Blaszczykowski to the Ekstraklasa, but in the end it was ultimately shadowed by the debut of Gornik’s new centre back Mateusz Matras, who had scored both winning goals of the game. For Gornik, this was their fourth victory of the season and now find themselves in 14th place, leveled on points with Wisla Plock in the league standings. Wisla Krakow on the other hand recorded their eighth defeat and have a lot of work ahead of themselves in order to return back to their fall round form.
